No accounts. No personal tracking. Your study data never leaves your device.

The short version

QuizBuffet is a free, personal study tool. There are no user accounts, no logins, and no backend database. We do not collect, sell, or share personal information. The only third-party service is Google Analytics, used to count anonymous page visits, and it stays off until you explicitly consent.

Data stored on your device

Your quiz progress, scores, and preferences (theme, sound, color, cursor) are stored in your browser's localStorage on your own device. This data is never transmitted to us or anyone else, there is no server to send it to. Clearing your browser site data erases it.

Analytics, ads, and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-YRKFB3WT9C) to understand aggregate, anonymous traffic, and Google Ads (AW-17221241617) to measure how many visits lead to a conversion (for example, starting a quiz). We implement Google Consent Mode v2, which satisfies the consent requirement for visitors in the EEA, UK, and other GDPR/ePrivacy jurisdictions.

  • Analytics storage defaults to "denied" for visitors in the EEA and UK until you Accept, and to "granted" for visitors elsewhere, where opt-in consent for anonymous analytics is not legally required. The consent banner is shown only where consent is required.
  • Ad storage (used only for conversion measurement, never for personalized ads or remarketing) defaults to "denied" for visitors in the EEA and UK until you Accept, and defaults to "granted" for visitors elsewhere, where opt-in consent for basic ad measurement is not legally required. Ad personalization is never enabled for anyone.
  • Before you consent (EEA/UK): no analytics or ad cookies are written, and no identifiers are stored. Google receives only cookieless, aggregated pings (no personal data, no cross-site identifiers).
  • If you click "Accept": Google Analytics sets its standard first-party cookies (e.g., _ga, _ga_*) to measure repeat visits, and Google Ads is allowed to measure conversions for you. IP addresses are not stored by GA4. Ad personalization stays denied either way: nothing here is used to build remarketing or personalized-ad audiences.
  • If you click "Decline" (or do nothing): for EEA/UK visitors analytics and ad measurement stay off and no analytics or ad cookies are set. Visitors elsewhere can turn analytics off at any time with the reset control below.

Your choices

On your first visit a banner lets you Accept or Decline analytics. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time:

Resetting clears your stored preference, turns analytics storage back off, and the consent banner will appear again on your next page view. You can also clear this site's data in your browser settings at any time.

No data sharing, no selling

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information. There are no advertising networks, no data brokers, and no profiling. Aggregate analytics data is processed by Google under its standard terms; see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google Analytics safeguards data.
